Signal | noise for Nokia
Signal | noise were asked by social marketing company Hyper to design a data visualisation for the Nokia Push Snowboarding project. Their response to the brief was an animated, digital poster which combined laser engraved acrylic with dynamic projected graphics to create a floating data display.
The data used Nokia / Burton Snowboards’ technology which captures real-time information on speed, altitude, heart rate, galvanic skin response and orientation for riders as they complete a run.
Large format laser etched acrylic
The A1 sized poster was laser engraved with the data display graphics on a 5mm clear Perspex acrylic sheet. This created a frosty like finish. A finely focused projector was installed to display the data onto the backdrop. See more about our laser engraving acrylic.
