Products and archetypes

Nick Fraser creates furniture, lighting and interior products that bring a touch of humour to the home. His designs celebrate everyday objects by transforming their archetypal qualities into new products that are both charming and practical.

Laser cutting polypropylene – ‘fork light’

The fork light references a quintessential English image. The bird shade is created from a polypropylene sheet and constructed using a simple folding technique. The outline plan of the bird shape is cut while the fold lines are scored onto the plastic surface.

This is a simple technique used for constructing net plans for product and packaging designs. All you need to do is assign colours to your drawing. Red for cut lines and black for score lines, simple! See more on laser cutting plastic.
